About Us

People helping people in Cumberland County for more than 40 years.

Sonny Floyd, our founder

Our story

How it started

In 1982, our founder, Sonny Floyd, “saw a need for a place to help those who were suffering from lack of basic human needs.” Operation Blessings grew from that need, and since then thousands of neighbors have come to us in a time of need.

Today we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian humanitarian organization serving Cumberland County. We provide short term help with food, clothing, limited approved financial assistance, and crisis pregnancy support.

We are funded by local businesses, churches, and individuals, and we collaborate with local churches and agencies to meet the needs of our clients. Our main fundraisers are Giving Tuesday and our spring golf tournament.

There’s Hope in Jesus

Along with food, clothing, and help with bills, our counselors offer prayer and encouragement to those who come through our door.
